The German pianist Katharina Hack, described by the press as an "exceptional phenomenon with a very strong, unique personality", gives concerts in Europe and the US, on stages such as the Konzerthaus Dortmund and the Fondation Louis Vuitton Paris. Radio recordings have been made with the WDR, NDR and Medici.tv.

She forms a permanent duo with the cellist Anouchka Hack. Their debut CD "Shostakovich" was nominated for the Opus Klassik and the Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik. Performances have taken them to the Berlin Philharmonic's Lunch Concerts at the Philharmonie Berlin, the Schleswig- Holstein Musik Festival and the Engadin Festival, among others.

This season she performed Grieg's Piano Concerto at the Philharmonie Cologne and in a trio with Fedor Rudin and Zilvinas Brazauskas in the Great Hall of the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg. She played duo concerts in the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg and at the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, among others. She is also going on a concert tour with her piano solo program through numerous German cities.

Katharina Hack was born in Cologne in 1994 into a family of musicians, growing up in Antwerp and Dortmund. She studied with Ilja Scheps, Konstanze Eickhorst, and currently pursues her postgraduate studies (Konzertexamen) with Bernd Glemser at the Musikhochschule Würzburg, where she also taught as an assistant for chamber music. Recently Katharina Hack was accepted by Gabriela Montero in her "Piano Lab 2023" at the American OAcademy.

She experienced further important artistic inspirations by her mentor Margit Haider-Dechant, by Andrej Jaszinski, Anatol Ugorski and Sir András Schiff.

Katharina Hack has received numerous prizes, including the Steinway Förderpreis Frankfurt, and is a scholarship recipient of the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben, the Dumcke Foundation and the Ritter Foundation.

In addition to piano works and duo literature for piano and cello, she also improvises freely in her concerts.
